Nails With Attitude

Zhen Chen

When you meet A for the first time, maybe you had great conversations online, but his gaze, the volume of his voice, or the flicker in his eyes when paying the bill makes you feel like you need a shield.

There was a time when B stole your spotlight by smoothly finishing the leader's sentence before you could speak. As the people in the meeting room nodded approvingly at him, you maintained a sincere smile while gripping your cup tightly.

Perhaps to others, you come across as easy-going, considerate, optimistic, and always wearing a bright smile. They might not realize that the brighter your smile, the more you might want to throw your hot Americano in their faces. In that brief moment of furrowed brows, you wish the person opposite would notice and say "Let's just forget it." When you walk into the bathroom to touch up your makeup and secretly pep yourself up, your boss is there brushing their teeth.

Believe me, I've experienced all these moments during my career (Before I was laid off). I've been ignored by seniors, stabbed by colleagues, insulted by bosses, and doubted by myself.

When I look down at my hands, I think if I had colorful nails with inspirational words or a thorny rose, maybe a smart date would understand my message. Or perhaps a lucky symbol on nail, and I shall literally always carry it with me.

Why not let your nails speak for you and reflect your attitude? Your nails should manifest your mindset, your taste, and your anticipation for the world.

Let those pretty nails help you shine. Let hh speak for you.
